Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Zoni collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (“NDPA”) and similar laws that apply to you.
Who is the data controller
Zoni is the data controller for personal data we collect through our website and services. Contact the team responsible for privacy at privacy@tryzoni.com.
What we collect
- Account data: email, name (if provided), authentication tokens.
- Search data: addresses you look up and approximate map coordinates, so we can match you to coverage.
- Lead data: the ISP you selected, your contact details, and the message you shared for the installation request.
- ISP partner data: company profile, coverage GeoJSON, plans, and MOU acknowledgement.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and basic analytics events. We do not build advertising profiles from this data.
Why we use it (and the legal basis)
- To operate the marketplace, match addresses to coverage, and route your request to the ISP you chose — performance of a contract.
- To send transactional emails about your lead status — performance of a contract.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations — legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- To send occasional product updates — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share data with
- The ISP you request an install from receives the contact and address details needed to fulfil the request.
- Trusted service providers who host our infrastructure, deliver email, or provide maps and analytics — under written data-processing terms.
- Regulators or law enforcement when we are legally required to do so.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some of our processors operate outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on adequacy decisions or contractual safeguards approved under the NDPA.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to meet legal and audit obligations. Lead records are retained for up to 24 months for support and dispute resolution. Anonymised analytics may be kept longer.
Your rights
Subject to the NDPA and other applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal or contractual retention duties.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Email privacy@tryzoni.com to exercise any of these rights.
